One step forwards, two in reverse.

It’s been a while since I’ve looked here. In truth, it’s because it’s been a while since the Darkhorse has been on his, normally it’s his writings that cause me to think of my own (far more juvenile, idiotic and irreverent ramblings).

This was supposed to go in a whole new direction, focus on the positives, work as a tool to help me train and take a better out look on life……and this is probably why it’s been a while.

Once again, I lost my source of inspiration. Just as it was starting to come properly out of it’s shell and truly provide me with abundant motivation and brilliance in the same way that a nuclear blast does when it reaches criticality and runs away with itself…….it went. Just like that.

Add to this that it’s winter, and whether you believe in it or not, I get S.A.D. to the n’th degree and you’re left with one very unmotivated, incredibly negative, bitter man.

So the blog didn’t even get off the ground, it barely even knew it had wings, before it was shot down, and now here we are.

I’ve not ridden a bike for weeks and it looks like weeks more before I’ll be able to (let me not forget to mention the Monday night cross country ride that turned into a trip to A&E with a broken hand, nose and a concussion……nor the 2 minute knock out that preceded that).
My wrists still aren’t right, my hand is sore (though bearable), but I can’t put any weight into my hands as my wrists sing surrender immediately.

Winter, No motivation, no bikes (and 2 helmets in 6 weeks. They’re not cheap), no inspiration. The bear is once again a bitter miserable man.

What next? Kick myself up the arse and get on with living and see where that goes I guess.

Easier said than done.

Going to see Henry Rollins in January, he’s pretty motivational, normally listening to that brilliant man makes me perk up, even for a week or so. It’ll help. But for how long? I wish he’d come around more often than every 3 years, I’m absolutely positive he’s got enough to say and to share.
I wish I had even a third of his eloquence and incite.

Running my first *any distance* in 13 years.

So, it seems the days when I’d play football for 90 minutes, or run in the school cross country events are LONG gone.  This was HARD!  I was nearly at 100% all the way around.  My pace was immediately slowed by even the slightest incline, and my heart was at nearly 100% from the get go.

However, it was the first of (not hopefully, but sadly a necessary) many, and it can only get better.
We’ll pretend the Navi didn’t have a bit of a spaz and therefore make the mile easier for me…..as I’m definately not doing it again.

Notes for the future:  Don’t go out and do a mile at full tilt straight off the bat.

WORK UP TO IT.  Have found running training thing on internet…..going forwards, I’ll use that I reckon.
So  7:53 to beat.  (even though it’s not 100% trustworthy in accuracy).

We’ll go again in a month.

\Running.

Hold your breath……

Changes are happening.  New things are coming.  A sleek new look, and a slightly (ok, SIGNIFICANTLY) changed outlook and focus.

Please get ready to follow the transformation of the bear…..
